Disney Licenses Spirited Away

Screen Daily has confirmed that Disney has officially secured the translation and distribution 
rights to Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi for North America, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and 
France. Apparently in an attempt to avoid the fiasco that surrounded the American theatrical 
release of Princess Mononoke, "Disney is moving quickly to get Spirited Away released, possibly 
as early as July." 

Alongside the release of Kikaider on DVD home video - Bandai Creation, a division of Bandai 
America Inc., also announced the launch of Bandai StudioWorks, a compilation of highly detailed 
collector figures designed by famous Japanese artists based on classic Japanese live action and 
anime properties. Bandai StudioWorks first compilation of collector figures, based on the popular 
Kikaida series, will be released this spring.
